on halloween 1979, the ministry of magic held a ball. it was supposed to be an opportunity for witches and wizards of all levels of so-called "blood purity" to get to know each other in order to help break tension between muggle-borns, purebloods and everyone in between. but, typically, things didn't exactly go according to plan. death eaters slipped past the various security measures and ambushed the party, attacking and killing a huge amount of guests.
then came the protests. peaceful at first, but before long the public had descended into full-blown rioting. three months on, the streets are still just as chaotic, with the death eaters revelling in the new excuse to cause trouble and aurors are still scrambling to get the situation back under control, but two weeks ago, there was a breakthrough of sorts -three deatheaters were unveiled in the last riot. among them, one mister peter pettigrew...
