Jacob was the first one out of the car. He usually was. He went around to the back to pull out his dad's wheel chair. When his dad was secure into it Jacob turned and smiled. He had a habit of that. Always smiling. Charlie had known they were coming and was already outside when they arrived. The dads began to talk and Jacob sat there kind of awkwardly. He wondered about Bella, and if she had changed much since the last he saw her, which was a very long time ago. His thoughts were interupted when both dads began to laugh about what ever had just been said and one even patted his shoulder. Jacob just nodded and if he had actually been listening and then drowned them out again.
The door opened and he turned his head. At first he didn't even know who it was and then he realized that it was Bella. He smiled widely, thinking that she was very pretty and hoping that she was as beautiful inside as out. Jacob believed that they would become best friends again and eventually, even closer. He wiped the thought out of his mind as he realized that this was the first time that they were meeting, again. He did try his hardest to make a good first impression because he knew that whatever she thought of him now would carry with him forever.
He hoped that she would deffinatly stay awhile. He frowned for a moment as he remembered that he had a secret to keep. He realized that his thoughts had found their way to his facial expression so he just smiled again. "Hello Bella, I am Jacob. Do you remember me at all?" He questioned when she finally made her way to him. "We used to be good friends we were little." He threw in. He pondered different things to do, he thought about shaking her hand but thought that would be awkward so he just greeted her with a smile.

Bella had been unaware of anyone planning on stopping by the house. So she was surprised when she heard the sound of a vehicle pulling up into the driveway. Giving a confused look, Bella crossed her room floor and went to the window, peering out. She didn't recognize the truck and definitely not the two guys with long black hair. Tilting her head to the side, Bella gave them the once over even before deciding to head outside to do the meet and greet that she knew was probably expected of her.
It was easy enough to tell that the two were related. Considering the age, it was assumed that the wheel-chair bound guy was the dad. Sighing a little, Bella closed her curtains and headed downstairs. She stopped at the mirror to check her hair. After all, she didn't want to look like a total idiot. Taking a deep breath, Bella opened the door and stepped outside. She plastered a smile on her face. She didn't want anyone to know that Forks made her miserable with the lack of rain and pretty much constant rainfall.
Not long after making her way down to where the guys where, Bella was approached by the younger long dark haired guy. Bella smiled and nodded as he introduced himself. "Hey Jacob. Yea I remember you. You have twin sister's right?" She asked as she looked past him and gave a wave of acknowledgement to Billy Black as well before returning her attention to Jacob. "I remember we hung out a couple of times when I came down to spend time with Charlie and he'd go fishing with his friends." Bella's eyes roamed up and down Jacob's frame. It was easy to see that he had definitely "grown" up since the last time she had seen him. All muscular and tall. "You have definitely changed since we saw each other last."

Jacob waited and listened before he replied, "Yes I do, Rachel and Rebecca, but one is married and the other is at colledge. So none of them are here." He was glad that she did remember him, he felt that him coming up to her and knowing her name and all was a little creepy if she had no idea who he was. Then he laughed as he replied to her next remark, "Yes I have changed, but you have to." Then he paused, he had changed in more then she could see. Yeah Bella, I have also changed to where I can turn into a wolf when ever I get angry or if I just feel like it! He thought to himself but never dared to say a loud. They both have changed, but to him it seemed like only she have changed for the better.
"So have you made friends at school yet?" Jacob asked, making conversation. He did not want to leave a blank and awkward pause. So he instead, filled it with questions. He stopped so that she did not just get bumbarded with questions and become over whelmed. He decided to go with a different approach, "Do you like Forks?" He smiled widely, much more pleased with that then anything else.
He looked back and saw that the dads were goofing off and running around like they were little kids again. He became a little embarressed and just turned back around. "Dads. Hey, what can you do, right?" He said. He could not believe that someone as serious as his dad would just go run around (not literally) in the middle of the neighborhood. He was sort of glad he didn't live here some times. Especially because of the many vampires. But sometimes he wished he did.

"Wow really? I mean they aren't that much older than I am really." Bella said a little shock in her voice at the thought of one of his sister's already being married. Of course Bella wasn't one for marriage, much less young marriage. Her parents got marriage at a young age and their marriage hadn't lasted any longer than it had taken them to conceive and have herself. So, her ideas on marriage were a little warped. "Well, as long as she is happy then that is all that matters, right?" Bella said, trying to keep the weirdness out of her tone. So she decided to change subjects.
She smiled at Jacob and nodded her head in agreement. "True. I have changed but I am still the same ole clumsy, suffer in silence type of girl I have always been. A few years can only change so much about a person. You on the other hand, a few years can change a lot. You are majorly tall and ...well, buff. I take it you work out a lot then?" Considering his age, Jacob had to work out a lot because his body structure was just to totally different than most of the boys around school. "You look good though." Bella said with a little stammer as her attention was drawn elsewhere.
As she looked past Jacob, she saw her dad Charlie and Billy Black acting like teenagers, rather than the grown men that they actually were. She couldn't help but laugh at seeing the two men playing around. After all, she has always just known Charlie as a serious "dad" type of man. Not someone that still jokes, cuts up and does horse play with her other adult friends. She kind of liked seeing Charlie acting a lot less stiff than he usually did. "Do they normally act like that when they are together? Bella asked Jacob. She had caught the question about liking Forks but she just couldn't bring herself to tell Jacob that she didn't really like it here. Especially with her dad not too far away and might accidently hear her say it.

"Yep, thats where they are, and she is very happy." Jacob smiled he found it good for them both to already have plans with their lives. He wasn't quite sure of what he was going to do with his yet. He had some ideas, but now he was always busy. Being part of the pack seemed like a full time job most of the time, it didn't always consume all of his time but it was a lot of work. He avoided the thought as he realized she was deep into it.
He smiled when she had said she hadn't really changed. He was glad, because she really didn't need to change. Jacob let out a laugh when he was called buff. Then he paused, hearing the question of him working out a lot. He was instantly lost in a train of thought. Should he say yes and lie? Or no and be questioned? He hated the thought of lying to her, but if he did say no, she would never believe it. He couldn't be in that shape if he didn't. Actually, he has almost never been inside a gym in his life. So he just made the best decision, "Yes, I do workout often." He hated it. Then he choked up and hoped not to be asked what gym, so he just tried to avoid it. He smiled his Jacob smile when she said he looked good, atleast she didn't lie. "You look good to." The words came out too fast.
He noticed her looking at the parents, he might be just a little embarressed if her dad wasn't doing it to. They were both always so serious but Jacob has been over with Charlie and Billy before and he know they were just like that. It was kind of nice though, they were such good friends they really opened up to each other. "I know this might sound strange to you, but yes, frequently." He laughed then turned his attention back to Bella.

Bella just nodded her head at Jacob's comment about his sister's. What else could she honestly say without saying too much? Her opinion probably didn't matter all that much anyway so why not just let it drop and move on to something else more interesting? Maybe a part of herself just didn't like the fact that other people seemed to know where they wanted their lives to go when they weren't that much older than herself. While she constantly felt like she was just stumbling (literally) throughout her own life. Bella had always felt like she didn't fit into her life. Sort of like a round ball in a square peg opening really.
She nodded once again. "Nothing wrong with that. I remember First Beach. It was always rather pretty around the water there. So I can see the attraction of working out in places like that. It gives you a reason really. Beautiful scenery." Bella said with a slight smile. She wasn't going to ask him a million questions about his working out because it wasn't any of her business honestly. "I'd work out but I'd end up accidently killing myself some how. Especially with how clumsy I am." Bella stated with a good natured laugh at herself.
Her attention came back to Jacob as he answered the question regarding their fathers. "That's nice though right? I mean so guys their age don't ever do that anymore. They act like they are too old to even crack a smile. I think it's good for them. After all, they are both still pretty young." Bella couldn't help but smile when she saw that Jacob type smile that she could remember from when they were kids being thrown together. Even though he had been really young back then, that smile hadn't changed a bit.

"Oh yes, it is very beautiful. You need to come see it again soon." He replied. Hopefully she would come, it had been forever since she had seen it. It would be great for her to be by the beautiful shores of La Push. It was always very calming there. Jacob laughed. Most people don't really get hurt from working out especially not dying from it, but Bella would deffinatly find a way. "I know you would." He grinned widely, it was nice to see that she could make fun of herself.
"I guess it is good." He looked back again and laughed as he went on, "You can tell they don't get out much." He turned back around and looked at Bella, he had to look down a little bit. She was pretty short next to him. "What are you like 4'5''?" He joked obviously refering to the height. He smiled, he was very glad to be tall, if he wasn't already a wolf then he probably wouldn't be as tall nor as buff. This was one of the times that he glad to be one.

"I'll definitely come down there sometime and maybe we could take a walk or something on the beach?" Bella asked Jacob with a smile. It was easy to see why Bella and Jacob had gotten along when they were younger. They tended to fall into an easy and comfortable sort of friendship and even though they had just met back up again after years of not having contact, they fell right back into the same familiar, easy and very comfortable friendship. Almost like they had never been apart. Bella laughed softly as Jacob acknowledged that she might really kill herself if she tried working out with equipment. "It's crazy, I know but it's my life."
Now it was her turn to laugh as Jacob make the remark about it being obvious that their dads didn't get out much. "Maybe they should. Perhaps then they MIGHT act like adults huh?" Bella asked in a joking manner. Honestly it was nice to see her dad acting this way. It showed that he wasn't all stuffy and grownup. Billy as well though. It was nice to see that his diabetes hadn't ruined his life. Maybe it had taken his ability to walk but it definitely hadn't taken his spirit and that was wonderful to see. Hearing his next comment, Bella teasingly stuck her tongue out at him. "Ha ha, you are so funny. What are you, Mr. Giant Boy? 8 foot now?" She said with a grin, looking up at him.

Jacob smiled as he nodded. "Deffinatley. It's very calm and relaxing." He replied. He looked at the ground and kicked a small rock as he just listened, then he looked back up and laughed. "It's not crazy, its perfectly normal. I mean, for someone not as buff as muah." He grinned and pointed to himself. Then he gestured towards her direction for his next comment. "Twig people need to start small, like with their own lunch tray." He joked, thinking that boys probably were always holding things for her like her books and just everything. He frowned, wishing that he could go to her school but pressed on anyway.
"Maybe not, because they're not so serious and that makes them not so harsh like some parents." It wasn't completely true. They were only like this on occuasion. At most times they both were pretty strict. It was kind of strange for them to act so young, but they did anyways, not caring if they embaressed themselves or their kids. He sighed in relief as they cut the act and started to walk back over. Then he went on, "Well it's actually more like 8'3'' now, but who's counting?" He joked and patted her head, making her feel shorter.

Bella shook her head and laughed at Jacob's comment. Actually she was enjoying the banter between them and it made her feel calm instead of on edge like she did with Jessica. Angela on the other hand was another friend that she felt perfectly calm and happy with. If she had to pick two friends that she'd rather hang out with, that made her feel like a regular person that didn't need to prove anything or continuously talk - it would definitely be Jacob Black and Angela Weber. Hearing his next comment made Bella snort out a laugh. She then reached over and lightly and playfully punched him in the arm. "Oh my goodness Jacob! You keep getting funnier and funnier! Lucky for you, I am more than capable of holding my own lunch tray without much of a problem." Bella said grinning.
Finally though their conversation turned back to their dads. Bella agreed as she nodded her head. "Well somewhat at least. In Charlie's case, he's still 97 percent serious. Especially with considering what his job is. He has to always be ready to put the badge back on. But it is very nice to see that he's not completely 100 percent always that way." Bella's voice trailed off as their dad's antics slowly ebbed away and they returned to "normal" as they both disappeared into the Swan's home. Bella's attention was once again drawn back to Jacob as he spoke. At an actual number for his height, Bella's eyes nearly bugged out of her head. "Are you serious?" Bella asked as she swatted his hand away from her head. "Okay Jacob but that is like freakishly tall! Your dad isn't even that tall! How is that even possible?" She asked him in amazement.

He noted that she seemed very relaxed around him, and that made him happy, it just added on to his list of reasons why to be happy right now. It was great that she could be herself around him. "Good for you, your past stage one then. Well, thats more like stage negative five." Jacob replied and smiled. If there were any stages of some sort Jacob would be at stage 62 and a half out of 63. Then he completely lost track of what they were even talking about for a moment. "Do you even know what we're talking about any more?" He questioned and laughed. "Because I sure don't." He added before he moved on.
He watched the dads go inside. He wasn't quite sure what made them stop all of a sudden. It was most likely them realizing that a game was on, that would do it. He did want to watch to, but he hasn't seen Bella in so long that he'd just get the scores later and he'd live. Then he went back to what she said and laughed as she swatted his hand away. "No, I'm no where near that height!" He laughed again and saw her eyes grow wide when he first even spoke about being that tall. "Be careful, your eyes look like they might fall out of your head." He smiled. "And no, I don't believe thats even possible." He added and patted her head again, knowing that it annoyed her.

"I'm still alive so that should give me something in the positive category right?" Bella asked him with a fake shock expression when he mentioned it still being in the negative section. She found it easy to be around Jacob and she liked that a lot. She noticed that they glided along with the conversation without so much as one little hitch in it. Bella realized that she was laughing more than she thought that she ever would when she make the choice to move to Forks. It might be worth it now. Bella laughed right along with Jacob and shook her head now. "Apparently something that wasn't super important." She tried remembering what they had been talking about but it was eluding her quiet well.
As she continued thinking about it, Jacob poke up. Bella tilted her head to the side, looking at him. "Did you want to watch the game with them? I don't mind. Really, I'm sure I can find something to get myself into." Bella was perfectly fine if Jacob wanted to watch with their dads. She could go back to her room and read or even get online and answer the emails from her mom. Or perhaps she could go into town and look around. Not that there was that much to do in Forks though. Once again Bella swatted his hand away from her head as she petted her once again. "Okay so how did you get so tall ? Surely you just didn't wake up one morning this tall over night." Bella told him. She was truly curious and wanted to know. "Is anyone in your family this tall?"

"Well, if I had actually remembered what this was about then I guess I could give you a 5, yes a positive 5. Is that better?" He asked and smiled. He was glad that she also seemed to be all smiles to. It was good that she was genuinely enjoying herself. It only made him happier. He just simply shrugged to her comment, he really couldn't think of it no matter what. Whatever they were talking about, he just hoped it wasn't important. Then there was a moments pause and knowing Jacob, he just couldn't leave a dull moment. "You know, I can say washing machine in two different languages. Washing machine and el wash-o machine-o." He said. It was very obvious that the first one was ment to be English and last one was supposed to be Spanish but was completely wrong.
"No, that's okay. I'm having much more fun here then I think I would inside screaming at the television." He replied and smiled. This was very true. The three of them would watch games and be yelling at the TV as if the people on there could actually hear them and if them yelling would actually change the scores. Bella was never over when they did this, and it was a good thing to. It would probably scare her away. "Well, no one in my family is this tall, but younger Quileute men tend to be." He answered and smiled, proud of his answer. It was also very true. Younger Quileute werewolfs, but she didn't have to know that for it to make sense. Maybe just Quileutes were taller in her little world. "And I sort of did just wake up one morning like this. Did you wake up one morning short?" He laughed.

"That's better than a negative at least." Bella said with a slight roll of her eyes. She would definitely take that considering she doubted that he was going to give her any more than that. Doesn't matter because Bella knew that Jacob and herself would spend more time together cause they got along great and she'd be able to get him to up that little positive 5 along the way. So she grinned and shook her head at him. Bella tried to keep a straight face when Jacob "spoke" in the language that she figured was supposed to be Spanish. "Uh, now are you sure that is exactly how that is pronounced?" She teased him, giving him a slight finger jab in the side. "You said perfectly in English so how about you stick to that huh?" Bella winked at Jacob.
"Well I only watch some of the games that Charlie watches when I have nothing at all to do. Then though I hardly ever sit through the whole game with him. I have just never been a sports nut. Guess it's because I can't actually play a sport and not get some sort of injury." Once again she rolled her eyes. It was fairly pathetic when you had to be careful just walking out your front door. Let alone on a field with numerous plays chasing after a stupid ball or whatever. Her attention went from sports that she can't play to the Quileutes. "Really? All of them tend to be really tall like that?" Bella asked but then thought about it a moment. She tilted her head to the side looking at Jacob. "Well your dad is a Quileute, right? How come he isn't tall?"

Jacob laughed. Happy that she seemed to care what he thought. "Well? You haven't given me a number. What do you think I'd get?" He asked with another Jacob like smiled. He wasn't sure any more what the numbers were of but that didn't matter. He was just curious anyways. Then he went to their other conversation, "Umm, well, it's sort of. Like, it's close. I think." He replied very uncertain. He was very sure it was wrong anyways. He sighed but smiled as he said, "Yeah I guess so, but English is no fun. I mean, English-o is no-o fun-o?" He laughed again, he was certain that was no where near how that sentance should have sounded in Spanish.
"Well then less injuries for you Miss Cluts." He replied. She had always been clumsy, that was something he deffinatly remembered about her. When they were younger she would get hurt and then go home earlier then they both wanted. He never knew that there were over 15 different ways to get hurt with a slide until he met Bella. He smiled in rememberance, but then frowned as he heard what she had just said. He thought a moment before he swallowed and spoke. "Uhh, I think." He paused, "I think it's because he just happened to be short. Yeah, that's probably it. But yes, they tend to be like that." He swallwed again and re-ran the sentance over again in his head making sure it sounded ok. It was..... alright. He just decided to take his time answering other questions next time.
