As a human Bella mostly preferred to wear shirts, jeans and sneakers everywhere she went, as she lacked an interest in fashion. Now though that she is a vampire, Bella (with the help of Alice) has finally gotten over her aversion to fashion and dresses like all the other Cullen family members. Pretty and expensive dresses, skirts, pants. She has even gotten over the clumsiness and is able to wear heels as well. Which she does when the occasion calls for it.

As a human Bella was exceptionally clumsy, dropping and tripping over everything in sight, and so is easily described as the most fragile human in the world. She is also also described as reclusive, quiet, insecure but kind-hearted, compassionate and caring towards others. Bella developed into a very mature person, especially for her age. She is also known to be incredibly stubborn, a bad liar, loyal, protective and extremely loving.
Bella has a sarcastic sense of humor, especially when she gets mad. She is also very brave, able to block painful thoughts and memories (hence her special vampire ability), and tends to come face-to-face with life-threatening danger head-on, even though she can get scared later. Once she becomes a vampire, her base personality is pretty much the same but now she is extremely graceful, even more beautiful (supermodel like), has a very high level of self control too.

Bella moved to Forks and into her father's house after her mom remarried. Even though Bella liked her step father, she saw that her mom wanted to be able to be with her new husband more when he was on the road. So Bella decided to move back to Forks and spend some much needed time with her dad. Bella and Charlie are so much alike that they easily fell into a routine after she moved in. It was at school that Bella would see the Cullen family and become instantly pulled into the intrigue of the mysterious family. It wasn't long before Bella was pretty obsessed with Edward and before too long he was just as obsessed with her. They'd end up becoming a couple even against the odds and objections of his family. Because Bella is a danger magnet, Edward would have to end up saving Bella several times and in the end she'd figure out what he is with the help of hints from her close friend Jacob Black.
Bella's 18-th birthday party at the Cullen house would prove to be a huge mistake. Bella ends up cutting her finger on one of her gifts and starts bleeding. Jasper being the one that still has the hardest time with human blood, went wild from the smell and tried to attack Bella. Edward protected her by shoving her back and ended up throwing her into a table of glass objects and getting her cut even more so than before. With more blood, it pretty much set off the rest of the Cullen vampires. The next day Edward told Bella that he and his family were leaving Forks for the greater good for Bella. Bella was heartbroken and fell into several months worth of debilitating depression. Eventually the only person that drew Bella out bit by bit was Jacob Black.
Jacob was in love with Bella and tried desperately to get her to fall in love with him too. Even though she did love him, Edward had her heart no matter what. One way that she was able to "see" Edward was by doing dangerous stunts and eventually would go cliff diving without supervision. Alice would see this and mistake Bella for killing herself. Alice would return to Forks to see what really happened. In that process Rosalie ended up telling Edward that Bella killed herself and Jacob would not tell him any different in a brief phone conversation. That prompted Edward to set on ending his own life by the hands of the Volturi. In the end Alice and Bella would travel to Italy and saving Edward BUT the Volturi gives an ultimatum that Bella had to be killed or turned into a vampire. They returned to Forks and voted on Bella's immortality. Edward then proposed to her.
Bella and Edward continue to work out the kinks in their new relationship as she tries to get him to agree to changing her into a vampire and he tries getting her to put it off and stay human a little while longer. As they continued to spar back and forth, the Cullen coven eventually find that a newborn army is being created out of missing people. Alice would discover that the newborn army is coming for Bella. The newborn army was organized by Victoria through Riley and they would eventually end up in Forks. They wouldn't succeed though. Victoria gets killed finally by Edward to protect Bella. Bella and Edward finally come to a conclusion on her mortality. He would make her a vampire if she married him and she would marry him if he gave her a real honeymoon.
Bella and Edward finally marry and have their honeymoon. A real human type honeymoon. What they never counted on was Bella becoming pregnant. Which she did and it progressed extremely fast. Bella enlisted the help of Rosalie to help her keep her baby so that she could have it instead of allowing Carlisle and Edward to take it out of her. Carlisle told Bella and Edward that her body and heart would give out before she could give birth because the baby wasn't suitable for her human body. Bella still didn't give her child up. Bella would go into a horrifying and painful labor when hardened placenta detaches as she tries catching a glass she drops. Edward, Rosalie, and Jacob are forced to perform an emergency surgery since Carlisle is hunting with Esme.
Bella's body is nearly destroyed in the process - with several ribs broken, she loses vast amounts of blood, and her spinal cord is snapped. Bella gets to hold her daughter after she is born but only for a second as Renesmee bites Bella and begins crying. Then Bella's heart stops beating. Edward then injects her heart with some of his own venom and bites her body in several places and continues CPR and heart compression to make the venom circulate throughout her system. Because she is paralyzed by the morphine, Bella is unable to move or scream out during the painful three day conversion from human to vampire.
Bella wakes up three days later, now a vampire. She claims that she can notice how everything is different when she became a newborn. Her senses were improved by great lengths. She explains her new eyesight, laying her new eyes first on a light on the ceiling, claiming to see an "eighth" color emanating from it—UV light. Shortly after her creation, Edward takes her out on her first hunt. She jumps out of the window very gracefully, impressing Edward, kicks off her shoes and runs barefoot through the forest. She proves to have incredible self control when she runs away from the scent of human blood, something newborns aren't supposed to be able to do. After she is full, they return to meet Renesmee. While everyone is worried of her thirst, she manages to retain complete control and hugs her daughter. Bella later finds out Jacob imprinted on Renesmee, which makes her very angry; she calms down quickly, but not before trying to kill Jacob after also finding out that he had nicknamed her daughter "Nessie", after the Loch Ness Monster. Later, Jacob, aware that the Cullens are planning to move away, phases into his wolf form in front of Charlie (he thought Charlie was the reason they were leaving). Charlie is shocked to discover Bella has known about the mythical world for years, and tells her to tell him only what is absolutely necessary for him to know. This allows Bella to keep her father in her new life without putting him in danger. Bella adjusts to her new life extremely well, going as far as to think she was destined to be a vampire.
Months later, Bella is hunting with Jacob and Renesmee in the forest when a vampire, Irina, sees her daughter and mistakes her for an immortal child, whose creation is a heinous crime of the vampire world. When Alice learns that the Volturi and their entire guard are coming to destroy the Cullens, she flees with Jasper on a secret mission and leaves clues for Bella to find Jason Jenks to forge passports and IDs for Renesmee and Jacob if they fail to stop the Volturi. The Cullens look for other vampires to be witnesses, including nomads and other covens, such as the Irish and the Amazon covens. In the meantime, Bella finds out that she possesses the power to shield herself from the mental abilities of vampires. Kate, a member of Denali Coven, tries to teach Bella to project her power, so she could protect others from the Volturi's powers. When the Volturi arrive at the end of December, the Cullens and their allies manage to convince them that Renesmee really is half-human, but Aro, dead-set on claiming the gifts of the Cullens and some of their friends, plots every possible justification to kill Renesmee. When Edward faces Aro alone, Bella's anger triggers her shield with absolute control, allowing her to shield everyone in her surrounding. Before the Volturi declare a war, Alice and Jasper arrive with vampires Kachiri and Huilen and half-vampire Nahuel, to prove that Renesmee's future is safe to the vampire world. The Volturi have no more plots to declare a war with the Cullens, and, with the help of the shape-shifters, Alice's research, and Bella's gift, retreat to Volterra, though Irina pays for her mistake with her life. After the confrontation Bella, Edward and Renesmee return to their cottage where Bella drops her shield and allows Edward to read her mind for the first time, showing him how much she really loves him. In the end, Edward, Bella, and Renesmee live their lives freely. The happily ever after begins here.
