"Well... I guess you're right." He agreed, scratching slightly his chin as he thought about it. He smiled faintly at the sound of her laughter, it was like music for his ears...Yeah, his loneliness had finally taken a hold of his mind, turning him into some sort of creeping, glaring vampire that gets obsessed with new girls from Arizona. "Wait, so you actually have a can of pepper spray? I guess that makes sense, although I didn't really think somebody living with Chief Swan would need that sort of protection." It was his time to laugh now, he seriously had not expected her to respond like that.
He raised his eyebrow at her comment about his appearance, yup, vampire powers were taking effect on her, it was almost frustrating how everybody liked them because of their looks, but it came with the bundle of being a vampire. "Well, I guess I just had luck I suppose, but sometimes being plain and simple is better, I'd do anything to be plain." To be human...He thought bitterly, snapping out of his thought to speak again before being interrupted by the bell ring, signaling the students to return to class. "I suppose we will talk later." He had to admit it to himself, he had handed the situation better than expected, so far that was, the biggest test would be Biology Class...right next to her for the whole class. Dear lord, help me please. He pleaded inside his head as he headed towards the cafeteria exit.

Bella nodded her head in response to his question regarding the pepper spray. "Yes. Of course. Charlie insisted on it. A lot. I wasn't going to take it but he kept after me and finally I did. It made him happy at least." Bella told Edward. Honestly she could remember that conversation with her dad vividly. She hadn't wanted to carry the bulky can of mace around with her because it was embarrassing but a part of her knew that it was needed. After all she tended to get into a lot of trouble. It could definitely come in handy and eventually she relented and accepted the pepper spray. She carried it more times than not. Usually not to school though. How much trouble could she get into at Forks High School? (A lot but she didn't know that.)
"Being plain isn't all it's cracked up to be either. I'm extremely plain and my life isn't that much easier either honestly." She gave a little shrug and just couldn't imagine that this gorgeous guy could ever want to be anything other than what he was now. Extraordinary. Because he definitely WAS extraordinary. Then again so was his siblings. Bella was once again lost in Edward's eyes when the bell rang out and scared her enough to cause her to jump. She glanced around seeing the students packing up their belongings and leaving the cafeteria. "Uh, yea sure. Talk to you later then." Bella said as she watched Edward walk away before going and gathering her own belongings and heading to her next class.
